I don't see how a limited number of units can be "backordered" Just got an email from the EA store saying my CE edition was backordered and won't be delivered for a little while...

I recieved the same email, I did send a reply to customer support and this is what they said:

"Thank you for purchasing Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
Collector's Edition through the EA Store. Due to issues with our
inventory management system, you received an email alert about a
possible delay in shipping the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
Collector's Edition. We have since resolved the issue and orders are
now being processed for shipment to the majority of our preorder
customers. A small percentage of our customers have been affected by
the delay. If you fall within that group, you will receive a second
notice to explain how we intend to compensate you and give you access
to the game until your Collector's Edition arrives. We apologize for
the inconvenience."

I have not recieved a second email yet, so I think I am in the clear, however, I really don't understand how the parent company can mess this up. Yet another retailer that recieves said item from EA has got theres out already.

So I was on the phone with amazon - This is just about worthless. Apparently they said it is shipping today, even though online still says OCT. I was able to get all my codes right away which was nice. Waiting till end of the week before I cancel the purchase.

I guess the way to go is Best Buy with in store pickup.

I got mine from Gamestop, some code problems at first. But got my CE on the 16th.

People are finding that if you look at how the CE face looks on you - you get stuck in it. so be careful previewing it.

You can't. CE is CE. best buy only has a ce copy for you if you pre ordered.

I called Best Buy and verified they have CE copies available in my area. 20 minute drive and I have a one in my hands at this moment. No questions asked about pre-order.

My box shipped from Amazon today, because I called and complained about it not having been shipped yet. But it might not arrive until the 23rd. I thought we had until the 22nd to put the code in, but now the Herald seems to be saying the 19th? I think that will make a lot of people angry if its true.

Ummm not entirely true actually.

Our Best Buy had 5 CE's on their shelves when I went in to pickup our regular copies.

I just grabbed 2 instead and no one said anything.

I'm still waiting for my CE, Amazon says it shipped the 17th. Mostly this just reinforces my belief that if you are going to use amazon and have time sensitivity to just spring for prime.

Yup. MJ makes a big point about how people knew what was coming and had the opportunity to change their shipping status. But the fact is, many of us relied on the stated date of 9/22 for the "grace period" and they didn't give us sufficient warning that this was being changed.

Looks like a change of plans, everyone. Mythic is extending the date to the 22nd. So we'll see how that goes.

I had this problem, but if you reopen the dye merchant box you just right click the icon and it removes it.

Which doesn't help those of us who bought from Best Buy online and are being told that we will get our copy by the 23rd.

And, yes, I talked to Mythic reps about it this morning, so they're aware that Best Buy hasn't shipped all of their orders yet. Apparently there weren't enough complaints about them since they weren't included in the extension.

I think I'll just buy a regular version from D2D and use those CD codes, then eBay my CE.

For me it's not about losing or gaining a day of play time here and there, 'cause you're right - in the long run, a few days won't matter.

What's got me riled up is that Best Buy is basically keeping me from using a product for which I've paid money. What if I bought a gas stove, and it came with a bottle of gas so I could test it (think hypothetical situation here people), and then they said they'd send someone out to hook up the gas line 4 days after the bottle was empty?

I have, however, solved my issue. I bought a second copy from D2D, and have already plugged in the key they sent me. So now when CE shows up, I'll have options...

lol. I had the luck of being the only person I know out here to get the CE and the owner of the store loves the models, and is amazing at painting them, so he was thrilled to get the model that he's never seen before and that it was only so many out there.
