Greetings!

We know that you are glued to your keyboard, with your IV of [insert fizzy beverage here] flowing happily as you hack, slash, and blast your way through the first tiers of WAR. This announcement is to let everyone know that if you haven’t yet entered your CD key into the account center, you must do so by tomorrow (Friday) morning at 7:00 AM. If you do not enter your information into the Account Center by the deadline your characters will not be affected, you will just be unable to login until your product key is entered.

If you pre-ordered online and have not yet received confirmation that your order has shipped we encourage you to contact your retailers customer support to ensure you receive your game on-time.

Think of it as a good time to stand up, have a stretch, and go out to greet that bright, giant, hot thing in the sky. Don’t forget your shades!

I think most of us knew about this before today, but I had heard it would be the 22nd, not the 19th. Ah well. They could have not let anyone login when it went live this morning, so I guess a 1-day grace period is better than nothing. :P

I just posted this on the other forum page, but ill post it here to..

Well I think that dates going to suck for alot of people, Daewen just told me hes not recieving his untill tuseday. I just checked the shipping on my second account, and its the same thing from gogamer (only went there because every place else was sold out). Anyone else getting screwed by the shipping and registration deadlines ?

Are the internal beta boards still open ? Maybe if alot of people are having issues with it someone at mythic might notice a post there. I guess we could email them, but who knows when theyll get around to seeing them, just seems like a crapy deal for some of the CE preorders.

Given that I ordered a CE in March, and won't get it for a few days yet, no. Its not an issue of a grace period, be it one day or more. Its a case of things not getting to the customers in time. And that is not the fault of the customers.

Oh I see.. that stinks. I hope they get lots of feedback and do the right thing by their customers.

Boo ... that's not the type of news I want to hear about. I'm still waiting for my package to get delivered. My Amazon order shows it's in transit at least, but not expected to arrive until the 22nd.

Yeah, that does seem unfair.

Really? I ordered my SE copy from Amazon in August, I got it yesterday the 17th.

Strange.

For the record, I ordered my CE March 31st, and it shipped yesterday. Its supposed to arrive tomorrow, but only because I'm an Amazon Prime member I suspect.

FYI, I pre-ordered the CE from my local Best Buy store back in May. I picked up my CE last night. If you pre-ordered from Best Buy in store, they should have your CE boxes waiting for you. You have to ask at the Customer Service counter. I think the SE boxes are out on the shelves. BestBuy.com showed the SE in stock at all stores in my area as of last night.

That is sorta crappy that they pulled a '19th' as the day when the keys had to be entered, especially when they had told us previously it would be the 22nd.

Mythic CEO:

"Folks,

Good, bad or ugly, Mythic has always had the integrity to stand up for what we think is the right thing to do in any situation. I don’t expect everyone to agree but I’ve never intentionally made a decision to hurt the community and/or our players and I don’t intend to start now. For the last couple of days we’ve been dealing with a very difficult and complicated situation. Sadly, there are lots of moving parts and sometimes it takes both a bit of elbow grease to get things working properly. Here’s where we stand right now. As of this morning, we deactivated a large number of accounts and ended the Head Start for our game. At the same time, we’ve been in touch with the retailers, both online and brick-and-mortar, and while we are getting great data on the number of people who will get their game today; there is still a relatively small number of people who won’t be able to get them due to shipping issues (no matter what the issues are, whose fault, etc.). So, after a lot of conversations I’m happy to announce that over the next few hours we are going to extend the grace period for all customers of Amazon, GoGamer and the EA Store till the 22nd of September. Based on the data we have gathered, these companies account for just about all the customers that were concerned about their chance to get into the game today. Thus, if you currently have an account with us, you’ll be able to get back into the game while you wait for your game to be delivered. Of course, all characters are still intact and no billing of any credit card has taken place (it couldn’t, the account still has free time on it) since the accounts were simply deactivated not wiped. We have been assured by all the brick-and-mortar retailers that they got their shipments in the stores already so if you needed to go to a store to pick up your game, the units are in stock everywhere. We will be monitoring the situation closely over the next twenty-four hours of course.

As I’ve said countless times, we will do the best we can in any situation to make it right and I hope you agree with have done so again. I thank the community for its support, especially for this rather thorny problem.

Mark"

The Mythic greed that brought you buff bots is rearing its ugly head again.

They know that many pre-order people will be locked out and rush to the store to buy another copy. There is a reason they are doing this before the big opening weekend. It puts pressure on the players to go out and get that second copy.

Does Mythic really not think this is an issue? Best Buy (bestbuyonline), one of the larger retailers here in the States, did not even start shipping out the CE and preorders until the Thursday, Sept 18th. Does mark Jacobs think they deliver overnight by 7am?

I just cancelled my CE with Best Buy. When I checked its staus, it said "on back order"...

I will get a regular box at the store for $40 less.

I find myself disgusted by Best Buy and once again, after so many years away, with Mythic.

I could not agree with IvarrWolfsong more. I cannot believe Best Buy was not included in the grace period. For that matter why wasn't it extended for everyone? And Mark Jacobs has the audacity to say the companies in the grace deal "account for just about all the customers that were concerned about their chance to get into the game today" - yeah just about pal, except for the [what I would assume are quite a few - thousands?] of us who chose one of the largest retailers in the states. And the voice support menu states "we have extended the grace period for all those who have not received their boxes yet". Complete untruth.

First, after repeated calls and emails to Best Buy, my beta codes came on the day beta ended and now this. Here I am already addicted to the game itself, and the very first weekend (most time I have to play) I am locked out :mad::mad:

I'm new to this game and Mythic in general, and am less than impressed with this launch. And as for Best Buy, I'm about done with these boobs.

Update - after spending over an hour on the phone waiting for a Mythic rep, I ended up with an EA rep, who informed me that they are supposedly adding Best Buy to the grace period, but there are a lot of accounts to unlock and he could not say when this would happen....of course he might have just been trying to get me off the phone.
