What do you guys feel RvR guild expenses at level 40 will be? Will it cost a lot to maintain a keep and buy siege? We at Hel Maor are just trying to get a feel on setting tithes and taxes so we'll have an ample amount when it comes time for the end game sacking of Order.

Sorry, got no clue whatsoever. And yes, we need to make some sort of guess, too. We've bought our heraldry out of guild taxes. And a few standards. So at this point we don't have any concrete expenses. I don't know if rams are going to amount to anything, so far I don't see that as an issue.
So what will keeps cost? None of us have experienced this yet, so I don't know.

That's fair. We were just not sure if those of you who played beta had a chance to get a feel for some of these expenses.

All the more reason for a fair and light guild tax by guilds.

The guild Im currently in set their tax rate to 10%.
I think it rounds up the fractions. For instance if I kill a mob and it drops 57 silver, I get 51 and the guild gets 6.
I don't think 10% is too much. Though I wonder what the money drops will be like in the tier 4 areas as well as the RvR loot shares.

Im doing the personal Tithe atm of 2%, if Im grouped and the net is like 33brass or so (yep still low :P) nothing goes. But if Im solo and net drop is 67, guild gets like 1-2 brass. Thats piddlin amount, but in the long run it does add up.

I bumped my tithe to 100% and already have 3-4g on my L12 Sorc. I figured that we as a collective group are going need alot of gold to get us started and to maintain our finances.

That number is going to have to change over time. Specially for underpopulated sides. I mean, that just sounds like an insane number. Maybe by 40, it won't look so insane.
Over all, setting your guild taxes too high right now is a little silly. Let people keep the silver and brass they get, because honestly, the 10-20 gold they collectively give by the time the first 40's start to roll out, will no doubt look like pocket change in the end. Although to be honest, what the heck is their to buy in this game? I guess you have Renown Gear, but that's about it. I've been living on Drops, Quest, PQ and Influence drops.

Do you have to buy your mounts? If so, how much are those? It might be a good idea not to tax people at the beginning of they're a huge expense.

Mounts are 15g. Right now my nearly level 19 toon, who's been crafting a reasonable amount and giving away some crafting drops, is over 30g without breaking a sweat trying to get gold. So I don't think getting mount gold will be a big issue (like it was during some beta phases).
RoW is running a tax rate of 5%. I was going to cut it since we don't have an immediate need for the money. But I decided to keep it there for now until we get a sense of what keep costs will be.

Remember taxes only come out of coin loot from mobs/players, not the coin from quests or selling items. I would wager quest rewards and vendoring/auctioning items will be a much larger funding source. I have yet to need money yet, have 20 gold at level 19 without even trying or doing many quests other than scenario turn-ins. Then again I'm used to the old school WoW model where every spare coin from 1-60 was hoarded for mount funds on a brand new character. :)

I know on my 14 Zealot with a current guild tax rate of 10% I still have 16 gold. And like you said, I haven't even been hoarding stuff. Im a scavager and I send all the stuff I get off to friends and usually only vendor the seeds that I get.
Coin is coming in easily and Im not sweating mount money at all, not even at a 10% tax rate.
