I've always been an addon junkie so I decided to start compiling a list so that guild members can see what is out there that could be helpful for them.

If you've never registered at Curse.com, then you'll need to register to take advantage of their excellent addon client -
http://my.curse.com/account/?next=http://www.curse.com/

Download the Curse client (http://www.wardb.com/client.aspx) which is a great tool in managing/downloading/installing/updating your addons. It automatically updates itself every time you run it and you can browse all the addons from within it.

- Setup the client to point to your Warhammer folder and then download the following addon libraries using the Curse client -

Essential Curse addons libraries
LibSlash (http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13510/)
LibTimer (http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13655/)

Addons I like or tried out -

General UI improvements/enhancements

AutoLoot (http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13508/) - Automatically uses 'Loot All' when looting a corpse, even when the modifier key is not held.

ActionBarColor (http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13662/) - Tints the entire button red instead of just the binding text if the current target is out of range, out of LOS, et cetera.

Moth (http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13697/) - Moth is a mouse over target hover tooltip replacement for Warhammer's default Mouse Over Target window and provides a lot more information and customization.

NPC Item Sale Price (http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13747/) - Displays the NPC sale price on any item that can be sold within the pop up window. Helpful for when your looting items that you don't want but can sell.

Warhammer Scrolling Combat Text (http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13734/) - The official port of SCT from WoW to WAR

XPLabel (http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13744/) - XpLabel makes the experience label in the center of the xp bar permanently visible.

RPLabel (http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13743/)- RpLabel makes the renown label in the center of the renown bar permanently visible.

MiniFriends (http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/minifriends.aspx) - Small, slick friends window, resizeable on the fly. Add notes to friends, and edit them. Show when friends level, change zone, logs on/off, changes guild. Show offline friend info via caching, e.g. remembers level/class/guild etc. Show when friend was last seen online. Sound events for friend levelling, zoning, etc. Logging of friend events (levelup, zoning, log-ons, etc.) to file. And finally, a real settings window - no slash commands!

LootBrag (http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/lootbrag.aspx) - LootBrag allows, with a single click, to post all the stats of any item into your current chat input box, allowing you to append to a current chat message or modify the message before sending.

ZMiniMap (http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/zmm.aspx) - Square Minimap, Mousewheel zooming, saves zoom level.

Preciouss (http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/preciousss.aspx) - Adds extra comparison tooltips to the jewelry and pocket slots to show what other jewelry/pocket items you have instead of just the first worn in the first slot.

MoraleSet (http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/moraleset.aspx) - MoraleSet provides an intuitive and easy-to-use way to organize your morale abilities.

UI Mods Menu Enabler (http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/uimenuenabler.aspx) - Just a quick workaround to reenable the "UI Mods" Menu item in the Main Menu. In this Menu you can enable and/or disable the addons you installed.

Clock (http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/clock.aspx) - Provides a simple display of the local time in-game. (Movable and scalable via the Layout Editor.)

Combat

ISAssistTracker (http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/isassisttracker.aspx) - IS Assist Tracker provides a mechanism to set main/secondary assists and use them with the click of a button.

HoverCast (http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/hovercast.aspx) - HoverCast enables mouseover casting of friendly spells for the default player, group, warband, and scenario frames. It also supports mouseover casting for Squared UnitFrames.

Mouse Button Targeting Fix (http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/mousetargetfix.aspx) - Changes the way WAR handles targeting when you click on something. WAR targets objects only when you release the mouse button, not when you press down. All this addon does is target the player you're currently pointing at when you press the left mouse button down. It only works if you click the actual model in the 3d world. It doesn't work with group frames (because I'm lazy) and it doesn't work with mobs (due to API limitations).

AutoDismount (http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/dismount.aspx) - Automatically dismounts you when you use an ability on your mount. That ability is used so you don't have to press the button twice.

Inventory/Mail management

JunkDump (http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13536/) - This automatically sells all items of the rarity you set to the vendor and all lower rarities

SendStuff (http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13735/) - A simple mod for sending multiple items by in game mail.

QuickMailTool (http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13748/) - QuickMailTool is a simple tool that will allow you to take all attachments from messages and also delete all read messages.

Bulk Item Mailer (http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/bimailer.aspx) - It will add a new tab onto your mail window called 'Bulk'. In here you'll see the normal To, Subject, Message but also you'll see an area to dragged your items onto. Here you'll see the items as a list. You will then get a estimated time to send.

Crafting Addons

PlantMe (http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13678/) - An addon to help with cultivating. Allows users to simply plant, add soil, water, nutrient and harvest with the click of a button. Automatically scans your inventory for useable items for each step and shows a list so you can choose one.

I used autoharvest when i was skilling the first 50 or so points of Cultivation. After that it wasn't common enough ofor me to have a stack of the same items (which is how it works).

Definitely interested in the mail addons though! And i am already using the one that makes hotbar keys all the way red when unavailable.

"HealGrid" for healers is very useful.

"AutoDismount" boots you off your mount when you use an ability.

"Mostly Harmless Item Linker" lets you post item stats in your chat.

"Squared" is also a real good healer helper.

You must must must get this mod:

Buff Throttle

That plantme mod is awesome, being able to cultivate without my backpack and the plant screen open is VERY handy.

oh a quick note: If you try it, to move it from the center of the screen you use the in game UI layout editor.

Do you get any feedback from this mod when you change the buff refresh setting?? I ran the "/script BuffRefreshDelay = 3" (I think that was the syntax) but I got no confirmation in chatbox that the setting was changed. Other mods you get confirmation when you change a value.

Currently I'm using Buff throttle, clean unit frames, Moth, Auto dismount, and the WSCT.

Anyone experiencing any fps drops due to mods? It seemed like I did lose a good bit of fps in Mourkain temple with the mods on, but I suppose it could be something else. Normally my machine has no problems in the scenarios on full gfx.

I have Moth, and a 2 others I can not remember the name of and I noticed a drop in performance, I set Shadows to Balanced and regained some it, I do thing the addons are causing a bit of lag.

I have a decent Rig, AMD x2 2.8 gig CPU, 4 gigs of RAM and a Radeon 4850

A sort of related question: is there anything out there that will display a real world clock?

Also, how can you find out your FPS?

Thought I saw a "clock" mod on curse.com somewhere.

Far as I know, the game itself has no way to display fps. I just run fraps all the time to see my fps personally.

Yes, there is a clock mod, it does use a 24 hour clock, but coming from Law enforcement, it was no big deal for me and I haven't really given too much energy to figure out how to change it.

Stickychannel - Autojoins channels that are lost when you log out. Can be set for character, character/server, any character on any server.

All you people good at hunting down mods. Is there a mod out there, or can you all find one, that gives me a timer I can move on my screen so I can see my GCD on my auras as a chosen?

Any mods that will allow you to send multiple attachments to someone, waiting the 20 seconds in between? I don't care if I have to stand at the mailbox for 4-5 minutes to clear my inventory, I just don't want to be able to go afk for a bit and come back with my bags of butchered/scavenging items empty.

Wazdakka
10-01-2008, 01:27 PM
Yes. i just tried out Zmailmod and it works. the 20 seconds still applies but you can load up a window with stuff to send to someone and then go make a sandwich. Added to quickmail for taking stuff out of your mailbox, it makes for a very potent workaround for the mail system.

Zmail is terrific for sending mail and Quickmail is terrific for handling incoming mail. I run both and my husband can attest that the amount of blue smoke coming out of my ears while handling mail has been reduced substantially.

Monstein...

There's a few GCD display mods out there and this looks like it does what you're asking for:

12 hour format
/script ClockSettings.Hours = 12

Remove seconds from clock display
/script ClockSettings.Format = L"%2d:%02d"

I searched here but couldn't find the answer, so here is my question.

I finally downloaded the SpamMeNot addon last night. Now, what do I need to do to get it into the game? Someone said I needed to make a folder and put it there? What folder do I need to make and where?

Did you use the curse client or did you just down load it?

if you used the client it will just be there for you.

if you just downloaded it then follow these instructions http://war.mmoui.com/forums/faq.php?faq=userfaq#faq_installing

Once ingame, is there anything special I have to do with the SpamMeNot?

I am playing with healgrid (http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/heal-grid.aspx) on my zealot and I like it alot so far.

It has range check which does not work perfectly, but its there.

This mod will really cut down on clutter if you heal more than just your group.

Not really. It should put an icon on the bottom left of your minimap that you can access to see who got blocked and verify that no one you know go blocked. Should be an options button too which doesn't have that many options in it.

Alert Filter is a good one:

http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/alertfilter.aspx

Filter out big notifications that popup in center of your screen, like zone entering, ability not ready, etc. Wish the UI let you modify the size/position of that text by default :(
