Hey all. Got pointed to this place, so thought I would stop by and say hi too!

I'm still around, playing WoW, desperatly waiting for WAR. Our guild got into the beta, so just waiting for the invites at this time. Still hanging out with some of the old school Aegis Nauthiz people.

Looking forward to probably playing a Black Orc, but I'll have alts I'm sure, though my play time these days is way down from the olden days.

I've ran into a few people here and there in WoW, but not many that I know.

I hope we can resurrect the great community we had on Mid-Perc on a Destruction WAR server.

Personally, I&#39;ve not gotten to the point where there is an opportunity to try this out, and its also going to be awhile before I reach the self-confidence level in this game to try and organize anybody outside of our own guild. But I&#39;m confident that all this will come in time. The first step will be to get enough of us together to be able to do meaningful group RvR.

is there a formed group for those in beta on any of these forums atm? I&#39;ve pieced together a clan/group personally, but would love to join up, or invite anyone else that&#39;s on the same page so to speak.

Shinma -- We&#39;ve got a guild operating on Destruction side. Certainly would like more people to join! We&#39;ve got about 10 people or so now.

We can also open a branch on Order side if we have enough players to make it viable. Its currently "Tintagal" on Destruction side, and I&#39;ve reserved "Tintagel" for Order side.

I couldn&#39;t tell for sure from your post... if you are in Beta now, let me know so that I can flag you for the private forum.

I&#39;m focused primarily on destruction atm as well, so it&#39;s no issue, Currently just running around with my wow-clan name in use presently but since my members are all lower level and tend to not be online, joining a more active clan during beta would be more suitable.

I am also in beta as well, I just tend to be quite vague atm so I don&#39;t incur Richard Duffek&#39;s wrath lol!

I&#39;d hold your breath for one of the contests and I&#39;d follow www.warherald.net like a hawk lately...They&#39;ve not even handed out phase I invitations to guilds yet (it was sent out etc. but no one is "in" as I understand it.)

They&#39;re also holding tons of contests it appears for people to enter as a guild to get in etc. and of course, invitation is primarily based on guild size etc.


Although, I could prolly be misreading it and you already GOT a guild invite for Phase I in which case congrats and I hope they send that stuff out soon damnit!

Yah, our guild got an invite (guild invite) and several people are already in the beta. We are just waiting for the individual guild invites to actually go out (as I am suppose to get one).

There is some Warhammer minatures thing up near here in another weekend or 2 I might try and get a personal beta invite there too.

Just quick update as I am writing on work-time. I live with my friend, aka Wazdakka. We moved to Ohio so I can help take care of my elderly mom. En-route, the new, packed-top-to-bottom, 26-foot U-Haul burned in New Mexico. We lost all but pets, cars, main computers, 1 printer, and trip luggage. Household insurance is sooo much better than U-Haul insurance. No pity needed. We had too much stuff and junk, and this is giving us a fresh start to live without the build-up. I am teaching (online) tech writing upper division courses for a couple of universities, and that plus mom keeps me more than busy. I have not been able to carve out time for my own reasearch or the zillions of other life-things I should be doing.

I have membership on a WoW server, but my char there is strictly a loner so that I can play for 15-30 minutes once or twice a month without feeling guilty that I am letting other people down.

All that said, I miss my VoV friends, and while I won&#39;t promise to be around much, I will drop in from time-to-time for hugs. http://war.magnitudeweb.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif

I got into the beta just before the dark elves portion and I&#39;m really looking forward to the next part. I could use a guild if anyone is starting one. Hey all, just found this forum in a thread on the old War Room & thought I&#39;d pop in & say hi! Both Serrena & I are anxiously awaiting the release of Warhammer & praying for beta invites in the mean time. I&#39;ve been hoping that the old Percival community that we miss so much would find a new home with the release of this new game. This seems to be the first step in that direction!

I&#39;m not sure precisely what you mean. If you mean which side (order vs destruction), the vast majority of preferences that I have heard are in favor of destruction. For those of us in Beta, our experiences seem to make this preference grow rather than shrink. The counter argument is some concern that Destruction will be overpopulated. I don&#39;t know if that will be true or not, I&#39;ve heard arguments on both sides of that issue.

Beyond that, given that the current release date is October and we&#39;ve got no clue what servers will be available, we can&#39;t even begin to speculate on the possibilities.

Sure we can. Well, as far as one element goes anyway: what server type? What do the viewers at home think? Currently there are going to be open servers where we are always flagged for rvr; standard servers where we are limited to rvr in the rvr grounds and rp servers, and I don&#39;t think that they have said whether it will be open/rp and standard/rp or just standard/rp. If there are open rp servers I&#39;d suggest we go with that, as I like the everpresent danger of being ganked. Otherwise I&#39;m not sure. Given the beta friends that I have made, though, I&#39;ll go wherever the others go.

Right now, what even the Beta testers know about the distinctions in the servers is so limited as to be nearly non-existent. No word at all on RP servers for example. All we know is that there is going to be something that might be sort of like a WOW PvP server, and something that might be sort of like a WOW non-PvP server. There&#39;s going to be a lot of devils in the details, I&#39;m sure. But I guess we could get opinions on the differences at least as they apply to WOW and perhaps that gives some guidance for WAR.

MJ talked about the rulesets here: http://war.de.curse.com/articles/details/3581/ Glad it was easy to find, because you had me wondering if it was NDA material. I couldn&#39;t remember where it came from.

Basically, he suggests that the difference between the server types is that in open you can cross to the other realm and attack anyone you see there and they can attack you. The main reason that I like this is because I always thought that it was cool when people would get together in DAOC and defend against griefers, or you could "call out" the enemy by killing people near their gates to rustle up some action. In the core ruleset when you cross to the other realm you are flagged, but they aren&#39;t flagged to you unless they engage in PvP. So you could go over looking for a fight, anybody could kill you or try, but you can&#39;t attack them unless they want to fight. RP servers will probably be core servers but the question is open.

I suppose that open rulesets will probably attract a bad element. I like the idea of danger more than I am concerned with the fun of running over and interfering in the enemy&#39;s PvE.

My preference would be for the core rule set, which seems to mirror DAOC the best. RvR in the RvR areas and none in the PvE areas. There are times when you just don&#39;t want to deal with getting ganked. In DAOC if I didn&#39;t care I&#39;d go level in the frontier, if I didn&#39;t want to deal with that I could go somewhere else and not be bothered. I guess we&#39;ll mostly just need to wait and see what they come up with closer to launch.

Hey all, not sure if anyone remembers me but i played a Mana Eld on perc named Narrok, me and my bro Casperz used to tear it up back in the day, really miss the old game before NF came out.

I mostly played the infiltrator pre server merge and a few months after, then concentrated on my healer running with an 8-man. The "Kestrel" name comes from my first toon -- my sorceror -- whom I played for a while but abandoned when I found out the fun of playing a stealther :)

My scout was my first toon, Nebacar. Then my Inf Nebakar (cwhatididthere). Then my armstrel Asava where all pretty heavy into the stealth wars after NF came out. Before then I was a lowly scout reporting troop movements in DC or a D3 ram operater climbing over relic keep walls and dropping the ram on D3 with clerics hugging the walls spamming spread heal.

Not sure who here might remember me, my name was Whinter, a druid of Hibernia/Percival from launch.

I was often found with Ariala (Another Druid) and Malichai (A Warden), Naishe, as well as my guild which, if I recall, was composed mostly of firbolgs including Grummish, Sidareus and Barryum. I had really great times with little Raad, who i am convinced by now i will always remember fondly, as well as Pryme and Sevrianna.

I was there until SWG came out and I migrated with a few friends.

It's a bit like a ten year (almost) high school reunion. I burned out on war and am now a consultant in virtual world media and marketing. Seems i can't get away from this internet thing :)

I do hope to see more familiar faces. Looking forward to WARing with all of you.

Just posting here to let you guys know were around. Most of our guild seems to be in favor of playing destruction on a core RP server, im assuming this is still the direction most of you are planning to go ? Alot of us would love to play with the old Mid Percival group as well.

We have about 20+ of our old Daoc members back together already and a number of friends that are planning to join us for Warahmmer. Our guilds always been based around effectivnes and friendship over size so we probably wont grow a whole lot more, but we plan to maintain a strong, active group of players.

Our name has also changed from Dragonwolves as it was in Daoc to Drakulverne (nordic translation for "The Dragonwolves") for Warhammer.

Only a few of us are in closed beta, but alot of our members have pre ordered so hopefully well see you all soon in open beta.

Well I did my pre-order from Amazon and acquired the beta code via their media library. I'm guessing I now need to input that key into Mythic's website. When I try to do so, it says the key is invalid. Is this because that key has not been granted beta access?

The reason I ask is because when I try to create a new Master Account on Mythic's site, it won't let me proceed without inputting that key. If I can't proceed, I don't see how I will get access. It's sort of a catch-22. Any thoughts, folks?


Edit: I went into the beta application and inputted my pre-order code. It took it, so now all I need to do is remember my account name, since the beta thing only asked for the email address!

Been bebopping around in Shadowbane, SWG, WoW, COx, warhammer is coming out and I figured some of you would be playing.

I still remember a relic raid, or large invasion, in OF. Right after ToA came out and that one cloak turned everyone into Necros models so it was really hard to see people. Me and Volt the Thane of uberness hit up our cloaks and walk around the enemy and flank them. I remember just sniping casters and watching the lag hammers of doom come down on the casters in the back of the raid.

(I'm the quite type, I ran a stealther mostly so not much horde action, and I was active duty for a long time so lots of 6 months deployments, but I know quite a bit of you guys and scouted for many a rvr raid)

Still playing DAOC as my beta status has been applied for about a year now. But I've pre-order and will be in on the head start.
Please come say hi in DAOC if your bored one day! Getting some Alb/Hib DB's passes the time pretty well! I try to hang out in CoJ and VoV vent a couple nights a week.

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself. My character name is Torg and real name is Steve. I played DAOC on the Percival server way back in the day as a dwarven healer named Zed and a troll thane named Torg, both of whom were members of Seventh Legion. I left DAOC shortly after the first expansion and have since played SWG, COH, EQ2, WOW, LOTRO, back to WOW, AOC (very briefly), back to WOW again, and now can't wait for WAR. My girlfriend and I, as well as several members of our current WOW guild, are looking forward to joining all of you in WAR. We've played for a couple of years now with a few of your old DAOC alliance-mates, although I don't know what their DAOC character names were, or I'd name-drop them here. :) We're very fond of them, and they speak highly of their experience in your alliance back in DAOC, so we're hoping to find a great group of like-minded folks to experience WAR with.

If you see me on Tyrion during the open beta, please say hello. I'm usually playing Torg with my girlfriend, or soloing with my magus whose name is Bane.

For those of you who knew me in WOW, this is Torg, the founder of Citadel on Twisting Nether. I'm currently playing a gnome mage named Quirk on the RP-PVE server Scarlet Crusade, where I'm leading a band of Citadel old-timers in the guild Avalon (at least until we move over here to WAR!) :)
