Cultivation: Special Moments

So, I am working on a database of seeds and spores which I will eventually share. The hardest part to fill out is the rare "special moment" successes (donators: that is largely where those watering cans are going). It would be a huge help if, when you get one, you would post here the seed's name and what you got, usually another seed type or an extract and maybe a resin.

system.log keeps track of the moments, but i dont see a way to parse what items i put into the plot to what resulted in the moment. here are some of the ones i have from my work pc while playing at lunch last week:

Yeah. Mine's currently a lot more complete. I guess that I should start looking at how to get it online. I was tempted to raid his data, but that seemed unfair to me.

You could try using the Wiki to distribute this. That way, others can add more to it easily. And given that he's not really got a lot of data, and that you are adding more and making it public, I think it would be fair enough to use all the sources you can get.

How do you make a wiki anyways? I've always wanted to, but for work related stuff.

Also, have they changed the special moments to critical success now? I did the same special moments last night and got critical successes instead.

PS. where can I get soil? I've butchered and scavenged a lot and the only soil-like items I've found are used in apotharcy to make spirit resist potions.

We set it up to see what would happen. I don't think its had a lot of traffic yet. Perhaps this "critical moment" effort can generate some incentive. :)

Can you export your Access DB to a CSV file, then import that file into the Wiki (more likely cut and paste) then start editing the information in the wiki? would save a lot of time on typing but leave you with the task of organizing it all.

If you want, I can set up a page and database for this stuff on my regular gaming guild website (http://www.victors.ca), but I hesitate to split content from this site to another one, it would be better to keep it all in one place. The Wiki seems like a perfect spot to put all this stuff, but it would be a pain to start all over again.

I am currently planning to host it myself in the next couple of days. there is no way i am doing anything that doesn't allow me to just import the file as i have already spend hours and hours both getting the data and typing it in.

Right. That makes sense. If you had wanted me to build you a UI for it, I would have been doing so in PHP/Mysql, which would have meant essentially exporting it from Access and reimporting it into a similarly structured mysql db. If that is what you are planning and you need any help, let me know. If you are hosting it on a windows box and using ASP I am unable to provide any real assistance as I have so far avoided having to learn ASP :)

last night i was growing some barbed goldweeds (150 cult) and used whatever random mix of nutrients/water/soil i had. for 3 of the 4 grows, i harvested double plants. wasnt a special moment but was the first time i saw a message that said "you harvest 2 barbed ...."

plots 1 2 and 4 got 2 each plot 3 got a regular single. that was indeed odd.

the seed supplier was happy :)

I was using all level 1 food/water/dirt and getting back the level 75 seeds I was growing almost every time at level 100ish cultivating.

and another goldweed oddity from last night. planted a few 150 barbed goldweeds, got a special moment which turned into a lvl 175 goldweed plant and seed. planting the seed toss in some 100+ nutrient soil water and i get a sparkling goldweed, which has no icon, but takes up a place in my bag. ive got 2 empty spots where loot wont go. if i try to drag the spot off to trash it, asks me if i want to destroy sparkling goldweed. the log shows i created sparkling goldweed. i cannot drag the blank icon goldweed into an apoth window.

Ahh, okay. Now i understand better. i had an idea that this would mean me retyping it all :(. let me think on that. I'd rather see what attention it gets (if it does) be a Ravens thing, but anything to save me having to figure out how to get this on my own page. That might not be too hard though. Are there dreamweaver templates for a database like this that one might recommend?
