PM Spam

I probably shouldn't have deleted it, but out of the blue today I received a spam private message from the user 'James'.

Just figured I'd give a heads up on this.

I also got a PM from someone named "James". I forwarded it to Gisli just now. It showed "James" as banned. Anyway, I have no idea who "James" is or why he would be sending me a PM.

Yeah, turns out he sent something like 54 pm's this morning to various people all with the same message. <Starts practicing his spam banning>

Ah, was wondering about that... sent me a message saying he was new and asking how it was going...

I noticed some personal website at the end of the message (looked like his homepage) but I didn't think anything about it (or have any interest in visiting it). I didn't realize he'd messaged so many people, thought he just messaged me because I was logged in to the forums (pretty much always am because I never close out the window :p ).

Yah I got spammed as well. That's a bad sign, imho. Are their anti-spamming measures on this forum when it comes to PM's?

I can do things like requiring a number of posts before you can use pm's, but beyond that there is not much you can do. There is already a 60sec time lime between pm's , and a limit on the number of people you can send to in a single pm.
