View Full Version : Dark Elf Witch Elf
"Do not desire the touch of a Maibd, a bride of Khaine, for her life is wholly given to the Lord of Murder, and he is a jealous god, unwilling to share his chosen ones."
- Ruerl Blackhand, Lord of Har Ganeth
Witch Elves are the maiden-elves who are wedded to Khaine, the Lord of Murder, in midnight rites of blood sacrifice and magic. The decadent fragile looks of the maidens of Ulthuan are nothing compared to the intoxicating beauty of the Witch Elves. Witch Elves go to war alongside the Dark Elf armies, eager to prove themselves in the eyes of their god. For them the battlefield is just another temple of Khaine, and the screams of the dying are praises sung in honor of the bloody-handed god.
Witch Elf Specialty
The brides of Khaine are fanatical fighters. Wielding long sacrificial daggers dripping with vile poisons, these incredibly quick and agile fighters race across the battlefield leaving blood and destruction in their wake. The more blood they spill, the greater their fervor for battle. As the Witch Elf's Frenzy increases so do the incredible feats she can perform in battle. A Witch Elf at the height of her bloodlust can penetrate even the staunchest defenses.
Playing as the Witch Elf
A Witch Elf can be an unstoppable force of death and destruction under the proper circumstances. By picking their targets carefully, the Witch Elf can win a fight in a short amount of time. A Witch Elf prefers to rapidly close with lightly armored targets, where their wicked poisons can find exposed flesh. Using a combination of rapid attacks, the Witch Elf works herself up into a Frenzy to execute powerful attacks that will stop most opponents dead in their tracks. When facing a heavily armored foe, the Witch Elf relies on her agility to survive long enough to pick apart her opponent's defenses and opening him up to a savage death blow.
Fighting the Witch Elf
The key to defeating a Bride of Khaine is not being overwhelmed by the beauty of her savage attack. When facing a Witch Elf the best counter to her tremendous offense is to respond in kind. The Witch Elves pay for their speed and agility by having virtually no defenses, and using this to you're advantage is the key to success. One must either hold their ground allowing her Frenzy to play out, or match it in kind in the hopes that you can defeat her before she gifts you with the kiss of death.
The Look of the Witch Elf
Lightly armored and agile, capable of closing long distances rapidly
Wields long sacrificial daggers coated in deadly poisons
Armor is adorned with razor sharp hooks, and wickedly barbed metal plates
I may even have to try a chick she sounds really awsome

Played one of these to 20 (played both this and Witch hutner as are similar) If you want to stealth around your whole life it doesnt work like that. Stealth in this came is a 30 second buff that eats your endurance while your on (you lose about half your bar during the whole duration). The attacks our of stealth are nice, so if you are wanting a quick sneak around attack for the back lines it works. Make sure you apply all DoTs as thats where alot of damage in this game seems to coem from.
In comparision they are a combanation of a WoW rogue and a DAoC rogue. Get siege wreck and such. Ask any questions you might havem I played one for a few hours in closed at level 30 so I have a bit of experience with it..

I am curious how you found RvR with the WE. I found that most of the other players were casters and I got AoE'd to hell and back.

I played a witch elf through this weekend and was a blast. Casters were great... I kept saying it reminded me a lot of Zerks but with boobs... :)
If I could close before getting nuked down too much, then it was a matter of staying behind and generating blood points to use a frenzy which would drop them fast. Tanks were tough but most others could be killed with this technique... unless of course you were outleveled...but that is a problem with everyone.

It gets better when you get the short term stealth. Also taking the long way around helps. People seem to not pay much attention to anything not in front of them.

I played a WE and really liked it. I wish there was a male version, but there's worse things then staring at Dark Elf cheeks when running into battle. :D
They could probably use a small boost to their burst DPS or a little more defense to let them stay up til they can build enough blood points to frenzy. Ranged definitely seems to be king ATM, especially with collision detection to hide behind for protection.

I have been testing for a while, but I haven't been able to get a good hold on the WE pvp performance due to me not doing pvp very much in other games. I tend to prefer melee classes, but I also tested the sorceress and had fun in the Kaine's Embrace scenario. We beat order about 500 to 8. If I wasn't laughing so much it would have been sad.
I did use the stealth to get one kill before I got nuked into the ground. That seems to be the way of melee. 1 kill per death while casters rack up the kills per death.

Sorry didn't get to post this sooner.
I found RvR to be very fun with this class, and yes having the stealth moves helps alot. The way I play it is I stay about the mid line and help with charges and help melee anything on casters when my stealth is down. When there is about to be a push I stealth up and move to the back lines and attack a healer/caster. The class is extremely effective and when you get to higher level having a silence is very usefull. You have to be ready to do a hit a run, attack your prime target, get him out of the picture and go until you get too much un wanted attention then move out. Use rocks and buildings alot to LoS and keep end pots on you (later you get a snare/root break too, that is nice for gettin the heck out when needed or to get out of a caster root).
Keeping your weapons up to par is a big deal, damage is really all you got, Stack any DoTs you have on top of melee. You have to kill things before they can kill/react to you as you are kind of squishy. The rear positional is nice, its a back stab with no cool down (that may change, most attacks have a 3 second or more cool down based on how powerful they are) and it ignores armor, however it eats endurance fast. You also have a cool down that makes moves none positional so is effective in combo with this attack at lower levels (sure there might be better use at higher).
Detaunt is another nice tool, on the witch you have to attack the target to perform it, then all people within 30 yards from you will do 50% less damage for a few seconds (think it was like 10).
Over all so far, this has been one of the classes I've had the most fun with. Surviving at times is rough (be ready to get torn into pieces sometimes), but once you learn to use LoS and collision with other players to your advantage you can have some good times.

I want to see 4+ WE pop on the support just as the melee start the push! It will take some coordinating tho considering the short stealth duration...

THe sever nerve is awesome fast damage (1st morale), Then the 2nd is like 10 AP per second for 10 seconds for your whole group. Then I have been usually keeping the 3rd morale which any move done attacks 2 extra targets for 10 seconds. I may change that up, but what Im using morale wise atm.

Keep in mind that Morale Abilities are designed to be switched out depending on situation, just not to the degree and variety that Tactics are.

I found that the rear positional was great against healers/casters. Of course I only got to 14 over the weekend so things may change as you level up.
My general tactics were the stealth around attack or join the rush and assist someone to build points... then move to the back rank...unleash a finisher a caster...which would make them run... use back positional to drop them quickly and then repeat... I was getting something like 6 kills to 1 death that way.

Note: let's not take this out of context! I came in on this thread late and that wasn't the best line to start reading :)

Well it is true. The auto facing is either turned down or buggie. Sometimes you autoface and sometimes you don't.

I noticed that I could hit bunny hopping strafe spazzes regardless of their position or my facing. It seemed like, in melee, you were always facing the enemy in game mechanics terms even if your graphics display had not caught up yet.

I noticed that when I clicked on any target and started running (even NPC vendors), my head was facing their direction as I ran. I thought that was a bit odd. Maybe our characters are waiting for the NPC to shout out to us, "Did I list that yellow dye at 50 silver, Jizarek? For you it's just 49 silver!"
