View Full Version : Im dyeing over here
So if I have a dye extract and want to make a dye, I get the dye-making container, add extract and fixers (these still needed?).
Can I use the multiptier from cultivating? Is there just the one store bought fixer?
Been awhile since I tried one of these and want to make a most shiny dye!

I haven't used anything thing other than the vendor stuff since the patch.

Container, Extract, Fixer
There are no other slots.
I do not know for sure if there are other fixers besides the one from the vendor any more, but when there were they didn't do anything. It would be nice if using different combinations of container and fixer with a given extract would result in different shades, but it didn't.

Any of you know what seed level gets the red dye on a success?

In my last growing session, I got 2 Fiery Red Ant extracts from bittersweet elvish parsley (200 level seed) special moments.

The red ant is more of a pink. The brown one you get from lower level plants gives you Scorched Brown or something, which is a dark reddish colour.

Hrm, the people who made this game seem to confuse pink and red alot, for some reason.
Oh and thanks for the info! =)

I think it's actually an issue with the way colors are handled by the engine or just how their textures interact with the engine. It's easier to tell when you're choosing Guild Heraldry because you have all the colors and can switch between them immediately, but most of the colors are lighter or more washed out than the samples would indicate. Black is more of a dark gray than actually black, for instance.

There's a mod you can install that will let you preview dye colours from anywhere in the game, and all colours that are available. Your character on your screen will even keep the dye job until you zone or log.
Handy for planning out your colour set without monkeying at the vendor or buying it off the AH to test.
