...(WAR)/user/settings and ...(WAR)/Interface/AddOns are what your looking for. You may want to move the entire WAR folder over. It would save you some patching.

Are you trying Windows 7?
If you use anything from Vista up you will need to at least have the warhammer disks handy to reinstall the version of DirectX 9 that it needs.

Yeah yeah. blah. I really need to stop tinkering around with things I shouldn't tinker with and that would save me about 10 of the reinstalls i've ever done :D

It can be acquired from MS if necessary.

What windows do you have ? and do you have multiple hard drives ? Even if you only have one hard drive you can partition it into multiple drives. I always keep windows seperate on a fairly small 30-40gb Partition while having games and other files on other hard drives.
Alot of games like War dont intigrate with windows in any way ive ever found. So you can nuke your windows drive, reinstall windows and your drivers and be able to run many of your programs again without reinstalling them and having them exectly the way they were.

Do you have any partitions ? I dont know if you plan to format or just do a reinstall, but if you have no partitions and do a format + new install its very easy to create them at that time.
As someone that tends to have XP explode on me every 8 months or so it saves alot of trouble :P I actualy just installed windows 7 yesterday myself and like it so far. I bought new ram about 4-5 months ago and forgot to set the higher voltage for it, 1.9v to 2.0v for the new ram (oops), it only started causing problems about a week ago for some reason. It ended up hosing XP and some other programs before I figured out what was wrong.

I have most of my stuff burnt to disk as of now. I'll create a partition when I install this one.
I am going to format.

20-30 GB should be more than you'll ever need for your OS partition assuming you install/put everything else on the other partition. I used to use smaller sizes but I've found that a number of installers and updates refuse to use anything other than C: for extracting their temporary files.
My desktop is actually set up with three partitions to allow me to have my games/apps partition at the front of the drive followed by the OS and then the data partition. Not really necessary, though.

I am not sure if this will help any... I have vista and when redoing my install I had a windows.old folder created... I dragged my Warhammer folder ontop of the new install folder and replaced all files... was able to launch war without having to patch doing that.

XP doesn't do the Windows.old deal.
But yeah, WAR is entirely portable - you could have it on an external hard drive and move from computer to computer if you wanted to. I've found it's the same with most games at this point beyond license key stuff. Since MMOs have the license tied to the account, they don't need even that.

Sorry for late reply:
Thats a great idea for the future.... Copy the Folder over to my External ..less to patch and saves me the headache of tweaking my War Ui and patching.
I was lucky I chose to save the windows.old with vista... for those with XP that sucks...seems that the idea of saving that to disc or external HD is a great idea ...

I am buying an external drive. At least 1 TB for all my music.

I stopped burning my music a couple of years ago. I use my ipod. I have at least 400 cds between ones I made and ones I've bought.
