We ran Bile last night with a SH for the first time and we had aggro management problems. We wasted a ton of time wiping on the doggies till we had the SH stop attacking then we killed them easily. It seemed that the SH was doing to much fast DPS. A Sorc doombolting was enough to kill it.
All through the dungeon we had issues with the SH pet pulling aggro from me. From talking in vent I know he tried using different pets and putting them on passive but it didn't seem to make a difference.
I was MT and run menace but that pet would consistently steal aggro from me. Which meant I had to taunt him off and mess up my defensive rotation. The night ended with a wipe on Bart.
I could guard the SH but I'm not sure if that also affects the pet?

Odd, that, I've never seen problems with aggro, unless the herder was just using the melee tanking pet.

The Sorc was using subtlety which reduces hate but I don't think SH get that tactic.

Hmm we preferred the SH for Bile back when we had lesser wards. The trick was tank was to do laps with the dog taunting every 50% of the lap ....as the squig used dots and snares...and if sorc with yah ..same thing....guard has to be on squigy for that. Tank shouldn't be getting hit often cause of kiting so healers should not draw any agro.
It worked so well we kept using SH to drop dogs....
About hate management when dog passes by your party thats hiding (in a hall door)...detaunt as he passes to help dump hate even if you are guarded....healers to detaunt..... as tank kites around the room the key thing is he has someone always snaring the dog....

I can straight up tank the dog with the Sorc bombing him. The SH damage was too much on top or too fast for the healers to keep up.
I'll try guarding him on our next run for the aggro management in the rest of the dungeon.

we have tried that to with straight tanking.....found it much more work for the party. Some group builds did requre MT to hold his ground.
Note: The dogs aoe is reactive to attacks. So if doing this tanking. Dots, dagger tosses, random hits. All trigger his Pbaoe. The hits that should come should be slow cast hard hitting blows...vs low dmg fast hitting blows.
The thing is with Ranged Dps...the easy mode is to run around the room in laps...like mentioned. Snares keeps him off your butt... heals are not heavy due to that... so the added guard +detaunt and DPS from that squig will be all you need.
Good luck. if you do try our kite style...I am sure you will be pleased how easy it is.

Wasn't in the doggie wing last night but guarding the SH helped with aggro control.
