do you actually have to have PRE ordered in order to play the OPEN beta?

again the OPEN beta...not just the closed

cause i can't find a way to make an account or log in or anything....the lack of real info is pissing me off

Three ways to get into open beta: Have been in CB, have preordered, or get an OB key from some source, such as file planet.

And you didn't waste your time if you patched, you need that for launch.

"Open Beta" does not mean "everybody can join" as an industry term. It is a shame that there are not more OB-only keys around, though.
