Mostly it seems to be when a release date is pushed back from what Amazon has previously listed. Amazon will require you to confirm that you accept the new change(s) within a certain amount of time or your order will be automatically canceled. I received no notification and checking on my order does not show anything required of me, so I'm not sure why they posted this.

Apparently Amazon believes that this policy results in fewer complaints and issues than just notifying people and really, they should know.
