So excuse me if this is answered in more detail somewhere else, I try to limit exposure to a game Im looking forward too so I can be suprised and awed as much as possible.

Core RP is the server type most are going to populate right?

Core RP is that pretty much where you are safe in your own territory, 'flagged' in enemy territory, personal choice in neutral areas? and I won't have to login and team up with some idiot named Rofflecopters.

Is that the basics of Core RP?

I'm not sure that there are neutral areas on Core servers. I thought it was RvR zones, then PvE zones. If you're in your PvE zone you're "safe," if you go to an enemy PvE zone you're flagged for combat and they can attack you or ignore you, as they choose.

But again, I thought there were no hand-holding neutral areas, a la WoW ;)

If someone could confirm that'd be great :)
