Just curious if anyone else plays a musical instrument or is in a band. I have been playing bass for a little over a year and have been in a band about 9 months of that. We're not gigging yet but hopefully we are getting there. We do mostly covers and 2 originals.
I have a Fender Jazz 5-String, an Epiphone Thunderbird 4 string, and a Fender Squier P-bass (garbage starter bass). My rig is all Ashdown: ABM414T Cab and MAG-600 head.
I have all my gear right next to my pc and I practice while bored waiting on raids or groups to form. Hopefully I don't have time to do that in WAR! :)

Nice.
Chicks with guitars rule.
Unfortunately I have two left hands when it comes to playing music.

Learn to play guitar left handed like me then. :D
I used to be in a band myself, but I sort of fell out of it. Slowly getting back into it though, and good lord and I rusty. I figure it'll be a few months before I'm playing well enough to be a lead again.

Eh. I'll stick to my moderately decent singing and beer drinking. Probably best for all of us!

Well, as they say...if it's worth doing, it's worth over-doing. :p
I'd like to get back into using classical instruments in unconventional ways again. It was always fun to have everyone going, 'WTF' when I walked on stage with a Viola. ;D

Well this might make me a nerd...hehe. But I play the Viola. Not in a band

Nothing wrong with a Viola, I love the instrument. Took me years of playing Violin before I realized I couldn't make it sound good. ^_^

I play the drums. Been playing mostly as a stress reliever for 20+ years or so. Got a nice roland kit :)

Does cowbell count?

Seriously, is there ever enough cowbell? It is a tonic for the soul it is.

Just be sure to detach it from the cow first!

I play guitar...but kinda all over the map on styles.
I learned to play in church, years, and years ago (like 20 years ago!). After I quit going to church, I just didn't play much. Then I really got into volleyball...several broken and/or jammed fingers over the years. :)
A couple of years ago I decided to start playing again. I found a great teacher who teaches me how to read music. She plays mostly folk/celtic styles. Although I drag her into classical from time to time to learn some of my favorites.
My favorite CD currently is Rodrigo Y Gabriela...if you haven't heard it, you need to. If you don't own it, buy it! I've bought over a dozen copies and given them all away as gifts except for the one I currently possess. Incredible guitar.
I currently own 4 guitars...oops...5 guitars. Ibanez nylon string, takamine nylon string, takamine steel string w/oversize body, charvel model 2, and a fender strat, old school w/custom pickups.

Heh...I just heard of them a week ago, and just bought one of their CDs. Good stuff!
