Thanks for the class descriptions, Isak!

I'm going to have to wait until we decide which side we'll be on, and see the details. But I'm expecting that I'll play a front-line fighter this time, whatever the most classic warrior/tank class is for our side. I'll definately not be a caster, stealther, or hybrid of any type! I did well as a cleric in EQ, but in a PvP game it doesn't fit my style to be responsible for keeping others alive while trying to lead. So that leaves main tank as my most likely choice. In every game I've ever played, main tank has been important to groups, which is one of the chief features I look for in a class.

I'll probably end up as a hybrid, but from the sounds of it so far is that there will be enough to do as a heavy tank to make it less boring then has traditionally been in PvP.

I'm still leaning toward the chaos side over the order side. Order just seems like it would suffer from albitis

Don't know yet what class to pick yet either. In Daoc i liked my healer mainly. Maybe a character that can do CC. But I wish they would show female characters.

Steath Classes?

I have not seen anything about Steather's yet...... Any idea if they will be needed or will play a role in the over all fight... or at least more then in DAoC....

If not.... then i will like to try out a caster.... if we are not filled with to many but the time the game comes out.

I believe that there are no classes that will be able to stealth, I'm pretty sure Mark Jacobs has stated this and I'm not going to dig through a bunch of old posts and interviews. Here is a more recent post,

Folks,

My thoughts on stealthers (invisibility kind), as per other posts:

1) Love them in a PvE game. Can be a lot of fun to play, who cares about the feelings of the NPCs they butcher.

2) Hate them in a PvP game. Can be a lot of fun to play, generally hated by other players.

I see no way to reconcile the situation in a PvP/RvR. If we tone down stealthing, then stealthers are pissed and if we make them powerful, everyone else is pissed. I'm not saying it can't be done but I'm yet to seen it done well in PvP/RvR. The same is true for archers who want to one-hit kill everything because they saw Orlando Boom do it in the movies and thought it was sooo cool.

And as usual, most players just want to be uber and when you combine the "Hunt for Uber Hood" with a stealthing class, bad things can happen.

Correct no stealthers as of right now.I ten to like hybrid classes for versatility.I dont normally worry too much about getting kills as in living :)I thought about a tankish class, but after the way tanks were done in daoc,i am not sure if i am willing to try that.We will see though.

Definatly want to play bad guys compared to order. You said it right Isak earlier, albion all over again.NO THANKS on that.

I intend to start as a dwarf fighter.* over time I might reopen Greycross Greyshield (meaning I will play a healer) but only after I had had enough fun.

I will likely play a main healer, but like Gisli said it can be hard to play that role and lead at the same time. Though not sure if i want to take an active role in leadership, would depend what the game and community are like.

Depends on where the majority is located... if in Greenskin lands, I'll likely play a Black Orc as my main, if in Chaos, I'll probably revive Hrothvar as a zealot, because he was originally a shaman before I ported him to DAoC and made him a Shadowblade http://war.magnitudeweb.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif. If in elf lands, I'll probably make an Oathbearer so I can sail over there and kick your fairy lovin' butts for choosing those pansies!

Truth be told (and Athelstaine would say this if I didn't first), I'll probably have one of everything spread over many servers...
