Is there a command to target the nearest enemy? I couldn't find one.

nooo....that is my bane in WoW as a warrior!

<tab>
<targets mob ALL the way across the room rather than the one in front of him>
<party assists Jzar>
"large train coming!!!!!!!!", says Jzar!

Its worse here than in DAOC. If you have no target, then tab will usually give you the target in front of you. If you have a target (including the dead corpse from 5 minutes ago), then all bets are off regarding what is going to get targeted. Warhammer targeting (all aspects -- not just the tab key) is a popular topic for griping.

How about nearest friendly? Is there a shortcut for that? Would be handy as a shaman for healing.

There is a nearest enemy ... Look at the keybindings .. I rebound it to TAB.

"Nearest" friendly (more accurately, some random friendly in the general vicinity) defaults to CNTL-TAB.

Thanks guys. Random friendlies isn't terrible in scenarios I guess. If my group is fine, I can cycle random friendlies and throw heals at them.

You might be better off just watching the health bars appear above people's heads. Though, that brings us to the other terrible aspect of targeting in this game. Despite constant, loud complaints, they still don't seem able to get click-targeting right.

Ya, as a healer I found that clicking stuff gets more people killed and makes me look like a bad healer. Burn...

I've found it easiest to just create a warband... then I can watch everyone that's willing to joins health bars. click click click!
