Contingency Plan Poll

Before I start: This poll is on the honor system. I've got no way to screen people out, so I'll just ask this. Please, if you plan to play primarily Order, or otherwise don't plan to play with our destruction community, then PLEASE DO NOT VOTE IN THIS POLL. Please respect the fact that ultimately, the destruction community here needs to make a decision in its own best interest.

It will be a big help to me to see what the general reaction is to the following contingency plans.

Plan A. Roll on Phoenix Throne and stay there no matter what. (Well, something truly extaordinary might happen to make us move, like the server going down for multiple days to get replaced, or Mythic telling half the guilds they have to leave. But going Plan A means an intention to stay regardless of queue size.)

Plan B. Bet on an early 2nd RP server, with the intention of moving there. And use Phoenix Throne as our backup Order server. This means that all our CE folks roll Order on Phoenix Throne if they want to have some Order toons in the bank, or roll Destruction if you just want to practice. The key point is that we understand that we will certainly be moving.

Plan C. Hedge a bit. Roll Destruction on Phoenix Throne. But, if a Core/RP server comes up within the first few hours (say by 2pm on Sunday), we are going into this understanding that we will be moving there. On the other hand, if things stay OK on Phoenix Throne, and no second server comes up on Sunday, then we'll plan to stay put on PT.

saw this, a new one. Just wanted to make it pretty obvious for those that have a preference based on what the Guinevere Alliance is doing.. We are rolling Phoenix Throne. =)

I wanted a D. Roll and PT and evaluate situation if another server opens up the same day. Maybe PT is good an hour after new ones come online because everyone else bails. :)

Daewen -- I'd like to agree with that. However, the big problem I see there is lack of clarity. I can see an ugly dispute breaking out about whether things are "good enough" or not. I think we really need to have something more definite decided before the heat of the moment overtakes us. And ideally, I want something that I can point to and say "this is what the community said it wants" when crunch time comes and somebody starts an argument.

I think it will be evendent by the end of the day which way the server is headed and how fast Mythic opens new ones.

During the preview weekend I couldn't get onto the server we picked beacuse, by the end of the work day it was full already.

I suspect PT will be similar. People that have the time to play all day will, and fill the server. When people come home from work we will again see a rise in server population, with a logarithmic increase through the evening until the pacfic time working people login which will cause a more 'finalized' sense of the server populations.

I'm hoping a 2nd server appears sometime around 7-8 EST sunday so people can get thier head start that they payed for and also join a 2nd server which many want as well.

I voted C, although you could say I'm with the D vote too :)

Might as well have our CE people start on PT and see how it goes. If the turd hits the fan and the server is taking multiple outages or hour+ queue's at prime time then we can poll and decide where to move to.

Honestly I think all the RP servers are going to be packed with some kind of queue's for at least a while. This will not be a situation like Percival / Nimue in the population sense, where any RP server after PT may/will be low pop'. We have to remember we are in a post WoW era now for MMO's :P

Server stability is more important to me, I am expecting to be in queue regardless, at least some of the time.

I had voted for plan C but if we luck out maybe PT will fill out so quick, in under an hour a 2nd will open? Then plan C and B people could be happy. A girl can dream can't she :p

Yes, it was. I think I'm going to lock these polls now. I'll post another poll in about an hour or so. Give everyone a time to absorb the current news before the next vote. Hopefully we will reach closure soon!
