I don't see how a limited number of units can be "backordered" Just got an email from the EA store saying my CE edition was backordered and won't be delivered for a little while...

I recieved the same email, I did send a reply to customer support and this is what they said:

"Thank you for purchasing Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
Collector's Edition through the EA Store. Due to issues with our
inventory management system, you received an email alert about a
possible delay in shipping the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
Collector's Edition. We have since resolved the issue and orders are
now being processed for shipment to the majority of our preorder
customers. A small percentage of our customers have been affected by
the delay. If you fall within that group, you will receive a second
notice to explain how we intend to compensate you and give you access
to the game until your Collector's Edition arrives. We apologize for
the inconvenience."

I have not recieved a second email yet, so I think I am in the clear, however, I really don't understand how the parent company can mess this up. Yet another retailer that recieves said item from EA has got theres out already.

So I was on the phone with amazon - This is just about worthless. Apparently they said it is shipping today, even though online still says OCT. I was able to get all my codes right away which was nice. Waiting till end of the week before I cancel the purchase.

I guess the way to go is Best Buy with in store pickup.

I got mine from Gamestop, some code problems at first. But got my CE on the 16th.

People are finding that if you look at how the CE face looks on you - you get stuck in it. so be careful previewing it.

You can't. CE is CE. best buy only has a ce copy for you if you pre ordered.
mine shipped and will be here tomorrow.

I ordered mine from Amazon, it shipped at 8:00 Am this morning. Tracking it on UPS.

I called Best Buy and verified they have CE copies available in my area. 20 minute drive and I have a one in my hands at this moment. No questions asked about pre-order.
