So, I got Blue Pigment from Waxen Violet Canny seeds and Brown Pigment from a Porous Wiry Merulius spore. In both cases I used the best cans, nutrients and soil that I had. In both cases it did not work every time.

Also fyi, if you use lots of addons like water, soil and nutrients, your seed can produce side effects like resins that act the same as water in Apothecary recipes.

I was going to ask, has anyone identified how useful adding Soil, water and nutrients is to the combination experience? I've noticed critical failures occasionally, where I got junk from the harvest, but the game doesn't provide much feedback as to what these things DO for us.

Definitely get some interesting results with nutrients. It's going to be fun to explore. Also. woth nutrients, a lot of the time the seed regenerates.

I have never grown a seed without at least the basic soil, water, and nutrient.

The only place I have found higher level additives is in public quest loot bags, are they found anywhere else?

    Scavengers and butchers get them.

Scavaging gives you watering cans, I've noticed. I think Butchering gave me some Soil or Nutrients. I don't recall. I never use these because currently I tend to cultivate while doing things in game and I can't be bothered to remember to use them.

    Default the 30-50 hump tips

i got to 28 using vendor seeds without too much time. from there i used my small stack of 25s and didnt make much progress. there is a abunch of bears to either side of the hill entrance to t1 dark elf war camp that drop lvl 25 seeds pretty often. gather enough of those to get to 40.

at 40, gather up all your lvl 50 seeds (also check AH) and go to an rvr zone. mouse over a battlefield objective till you see artisan boon. if you go there and click the hero, you get a +10 skill boost for 10 minutes. grind out 50-75 using lvl 50 seeds and then use your lvl 75 seeds at 65. skillups come fast and you also start getting 2 lots to grow in.

spam guild chat for nutrients and water and soil

thats what i did to get past 30, and then my stock of lvl 100+ seeds is going to last me awhile.

also do the lvl 75 seed quest to keep in your plot while you pvp or do scenarios, 9 minute timer makes it easier to forget about. get 2 of em

Using those things increases your chances of critical successes and special moments. Pigments and apothecary stabilizers are the only things that I have gotten from critical successes, besides the fact that it generally makes the seed regenerate.

Got my cultivation up to 115 with no water or nutrients.
I must have grown a bunch of useless stuff. Have it all saved up for making pots when I get that up.
