Salvaging/Talsiman Essence?

I'm not sure what's going on but I've got these essence pieces of different sorts and they all say salvage 5 for such and such essence... but I can't salvage them or combine them in anyway that I know of to make use of them.

Make sure you have the right number, and no other window is open, and right click.

Once you get a stack of 5 (or 10 or whatever the tooltip says), then right click on the stack. It will convert the appropriate number of items in your stack to the target item.

How do you split the stack?

You don't need to. If you have 8 X and you need 5 to get a Y, then when you right click you will have 3 X and 1 Y.

yeah I finally figured out. would have been nice for a little note on them like everything else has.
