Something to consider. There may be new tradeskills in the future which are also somewhat dependant on cultivating. For example, certain weeds or plants could be required in order to tan leather which would be used to make armor.

The components required to make dyes are still a product of cultivation. You can't get the components otherwise. Can you?

I made an alt to do my cultivating/apotharcy because I found the tradeskill to be entertaining and interesting. My main is a scavenger, as is my alt-main. I have another alt I use for a salvager.
