Default Strategy to kill dem doggies in Bile

Last night I did my first Blood and Bile runs. It was quite an experience.

One thing I did notice was that the doggies in Bile cause quite a headache, can wipe a group easily, and there are lots of conflicting strategies for killing dem doggies dead.

After wiping a few times using the kiting strategy and then wiping a few more times using a single tank/healers on rocks strategy, we found a very sound and simple way to kill dem doggies with very little risk. Below I will try to explain the strategy.

At a minimum you need two tanks to use this strategy and preferably two healers, though one is enough if your tank can keep aggro well.

    1) The main tank guards the main healer. The off tank guards the main tank.
    2) For each doggie, find a position where the main tank can hold aggro on the doggie while, the off tank stands nearby facing away from main tank and spams hold the line.
    3) NO ONE BUT THE MAIN TANK DAMAGES THE DOGGIE! This step is crucial.
    4) Healers stand back and heal like normal, and try to draw as little aggro as possible. DPSers hang out by healers picking der noses.

Basically, what we found was that when more than one person damages the doggie, he tends to spam his AE dmg spell that tends to wipe everyone. This method is extremely boring for the DPS in group, but they need to suck it up or else you won't finish dungeon.

I am pretty sure that the purpose of dem doggies is to test the willpower of a group, mainly the willpower of the DPSers to just sit there, do nothing, and follow orders.

Dat's my strategy and it werked fer me. Simple but effective.

That sounds right except you need your RDPS to take down the dogs with single target damage. The MDPS stands around looking hot. Well the WE's do.

The doggie will use their dmg spells on you each time they get hit, thats if you tank them.

Which means your DPS needs to be aware of this. Everyone should use big chunks slow spells.... to minimize the impact on the tank. DoTs are a nono, each ticks would proc the dmg on you.

A single sorc using doombolts will do wonder there. If you also got a Squig plink at 2 sec is good, I understand they can slot tactics for 1s, but our squig unslotted that to get slower attacks on those jus so the tank wouldnt die.

DPS can have the MT on defensive target and hold casting if they see him in trouble, to avoid proc him more splash dmg.

I can confirm that the dog does not aoe dmg spell if you have a single tank attacking the mob. Only when more than two people attack.

I was being the guarding tank for a bile run, and i was standing right next to the dog and never got hit by the aoe, which I am assuming happened because only the tank was hitting the doggie, while everyone else just stood there picking dar nose.

Well the way the crew I go with does it is fairly simple. The room with the hole in the middle area....even the one with the boss we do this strat.

Group stands at the entrance to room... Tank taunts and runs in around the room...every 50% way he taunts ....

The key thing is to have anyone with a snare and root to keep the mob slowed or knocked down if he starts to catch up.

The ranged dps does the killing... if you have offtanks have them dart in to snare or knockdown from time to time... with this method nobody should get hurt...minus the tank if he gets caught by the dog... knock down and run is what the tank should do..or snare and run.

with two tanks...guard should be on main healer and one on main dpser... this way keeping agro and kiting going will be easy as pie.
