    Default Cleric/Enchanter Healing Line

    Cleric
Here is a brief overview of main line cleric heals gleamed from secondary sources. Understand that all clerics also seem to get passive buffs to healing ability that top out at 20 percent at lvl 50.

Healing Light Series = Two second casting time, no refresh. Basic spammable heal that heals for a moderate amount of damage.

Light of Rejuvenation = Instant cast, Five second refresh time. Basic regen that heals for a low amount over a 30 second time period.

Radiant Cure = Three second cast, Six second refresh time. Long casting, large heal.

Healing Wind = Three second cast, Six second refresh time. Long casting, moderate group heal.

Flash of Recovery = Instant cast, 30 second refresh time. Instant cast, large heal on lenghty timer.

    Chanters
Chanters have less powerful heals, due to having buffs instead. Also of note, regens do not usually stack and while the cleric is more of a ranged light dps role, the chanter is more of light melee dps role.

Healing Light Series = Two second casting time, no refresh. Basic spammable heal that heals for a moderate amount of damage.

Light of Revival = Instant cast, Five second refresh time. Basic regen that heals for a low amount over a 38 second time period.

Revival Mantra = Toggled buff. Basic regen that heals for a low amount when active.

Spell of Life = Instant Cast, 5 minute refresh. Group regen that heals for a low/medium low amount for 10 seconds, stacks with other regens.

Wait, Clerics are light RDPS, and Chanters are light MDPS? Is it just me, or did they get this ass backwards?

If I were to ever try this game, a Cleric would probably be what I would make. But the RDPS role seems silly for a Cleric, I prefer the melee style most games have for Clerics. They wear all that armor for a reason

Clerics get both ranged and melee attacks. Not a lot, but I don't see a huge preponderance toward range over melee in the spell lines. And not like they do a lot of damage any way you look at it...

Oh, I realize this, they are healers first and foremost. So there are attacks for both melee and ranged? I will have to look at it more, I am interested how the Cleric will play.

    EDIT:
I saw this as a description for the Cleric class on a site just now:
    Cleric

Following the path of healing, the Cleric uses the power of magic to fortify an ally’s body and heal their wounds, or even resurrect a Daeva whose soul is separated from its body.

    Special ability: Healing and protection

Play style: The main role of the Cleric is to provide support to allies through healing or fortification, but they can also be formidable soldiers in battle using a mace and shield.
That sounds a little more like what I expected.

Just wanted to stress Clerics are much better healers than chanters.

While clerics can mix up their dps a bit, it's usually just easier to stand back and blast imo.

I bring that up cause, standing back and dpsing really isn't an option for the chanter, since everything worthwhile dps wise is melee.

Personally, and you can disagree with me here, I am starting to believe the chanter isn't a backup healer and is more a bard style class. You can buff, and do a little bit of fun melee dps. Oh, and you can heal too, a bit.

Honestly if the cleric had a bit more meat to it's melee line, like I wish it did, I wouldn't hestiate to pick it. As it is, think it's chanter for me with it's ability to parry attack and melee knockdown.

The counter argument there is you should just play your cleric in melee using it's ranged dps close up. I just don't like my smite getting pushed back =p

Different lore, different concept. DAoC's Cleric is ranged, too.

Both Clerics and Chanters wear Chain armor and can choose between Staff and Mace/Shield, though Chanters usually go Staff for the Parry (at least when they will be attacking) and Clerics go Mace/Shield for the survivability.

They get only a single melee ability (Hallowed Strike), though they do get two ranged magical attacks that chain off of it. At 42, however, they get Lightning of Chastisement, which is an instant cast nuke that also triggers those same chain skills (though with a 16s CD to HS's 8s). Their primary chain is Smite > Thunderbolts > Divine Spark, which only has a 2s CD on Smite.

In other words, they're not a melee class in any meaningful sense of the term.

Chanters get only Smite I as a ranged attack and never get the higher ranks of it.
"Oh, hell no," Kylar said. "You cannot fly. Tell me you can't fly."
