    Default Slayer System

Info on the Slayer System, introduced in 1.2 (we'll be launching with 1.5):

Penalties of PvP in PVE Areas

If you go on a killing rampage in enemy territory (does not apply to the Abyss), you will receive penalties for doing so. This is called the Slayer System. The effects are as follows:

    1. Depending on the amount of killings you will receive points. If your penalty points go over a certain limit, you will receive the penalty effects. If you kill lower leveled players than you, you will receive more points.

    2. The penalty effects are categorized into two. One is a ?Curse? and you cannot use rifts. The second is a ?Judgment? and under this effect you cannot be resurrected in any Kiosk placed in the enemy territory, as well as use rifts.

    3. The name of the Curse/Judgment depends on the race. If you are Elyos, you will receive Curse/Judgment of Asphel. Asmodians will get Curse/Judgment of Ariel.

    4. Once you come under Curse or Judgment, your location will be revealed throughout the local map for the entire opposing faction members. Also, even if you are under a hiding skill, your title will be seen, making it even easier to be spotted.

    5. You must go back to your own lands or the Abyss and wait for a certain amount of time for the Curse or Judgment to disappear.

    6. If you or someone else kills a slayer, 12 nearby players of the dead body will receive buffs.

    7. The killer of the slayer will be announced throughout the area chat under the format of ?[Race]?s Hero [Killer of the Slayer] has defeated [Slayer] while he was under [Judgment or Curse] of [Ariel or Asphel].
A Kisk is a plantable Obelisk (bind stone). They last for 2 hours and allow the registration (binding) of up to 6, 24 or 48 people (1 group, 1 alliance or 2 alliances) depending on size. They are called Kisks in-game and Kiosks in the quote, but I'm not sure which is the typo.

Interesting. I was hoping they would have something to penalize ganking lowbies. This could be good.

It's not so much a penalty as insurance. Assuming you keep fighting, you will eventually die to someone while Cursed/Judged without being rezable and get kicked back to your own zones and have to wait there for a while before coming back. Killing lowbies just gets you to that point quicker.

This could actually be the most useful situation to use one of the Cleric's advanced Stigma abilities (from patch 1.5) that is a 2 minute dot that prevents the target from being rezed if they die while under the effect.

Thinking about this a bit more, this could be a community builder in which high level players notified that high level enemies are ganking the lowbies go off to defend those zones and kick the bad guys out. Maybe.

That would be a nice thought actually. In UO we had an Anti-PK guild that literally waiting for opportunities like this. Mind you this was before there really was anything else to do(before t2a). I think it could be soemthing fun. Asmo coast guard here we come? :-D

Did any of you check the costs for those plantable binds? Was like 36,000...which in grander scheme, didn't seem like much. I had like 13,000 at lvl 10 <with no crafting>.

We'll see how well this actually works when this goes live.

Korea is running 1.2, so it is live already - just gotta look for info.

Koreans play their games differently than NA/EU, though, so it's not all necessarily going to be useful info.

Interesting. It makes me wonder if the rewards for ganking lowbies will out weigh the Slayer penalties.
