The games good. And my reasons may be what turns off others.

Good graphics, Epicly big Fort fights even at our levels. Still haven't seen end game yet....because leveling is not easy mode.

Remember having to grind xp in DAOC how we would celebrate mini dings after a long session?

Well it isn't that bad. But there is a grind. That so far has weeded out those who don't mind it so much and those that do.

Otherwise it's questing, Group questing, Group Grinding On Elites, Gankings, ...fort wars...

Memory issues casing CTD in huge battles...but that will be fixed eventually. Annoying as heck.... Fort fights fun...ctd not fun.

The highest level we have so far is 37 ...he may be even 38... dude never sleeps I think.

Those with more time are in the mid 30s...most of the legion in the 20s and now able to get into the Abyss at 25.

Grinding does get on my nerves but I prefer that than easy epics ..easy level mode...and lack of any sense of achievement (Warcraft cough)...

I think the leveling pace is at the pace of Eq2 honestly...but eq2 had a better PVE game....

Air combat is chaotic.... people flying all over...its chaos...

    Cool Cool...

Besides fort fights which I imagine are something like DaoC or WAR... are there other good PvP? Is everything in large scale like Warband vs Warband or many Warbands vs many Warbands? Group vs Group? one on ones?

Yeah.. How's the pvp? How's the balance?

Yeah.. How's the pvp? How's the balance?
Pretty solid to me...since both realms have same classes...the word is DP skills are different...but DP takes a lot of kills and time to build up and can be lost on death. They dont turn an entire fight like BW knockdowns. Nor are they as frequent either.

The CC is nasty...but you can be freed from it by Clerics with dispel....Potions can break you free also. Crafting is very handy in this game.

The pvp battles for me have been:
    1 vs too many
1 vs 1 and long fights

    group on group

The larger scale things have been multi warbands vs multi warbands. When I say multi i mean like 3-4 vs 3-4...sometimes in once place sometimes all over the fort.... at the Artifacts....at the fort...in the fort...in the sky....pure chaos.. =)

Imagine SI Days old frontier relic battles on Guien or Perci...and add in flying fights on ground in ground now in the sky.

Ranged seem to have a big advantage in flight....melee have to struggle a little ...due to out of range issue....I get close on my gladiator... and click my chain starter....they move up like a nudge and out of range so it doesn't fire..its really annoying for a slow swinger like me.

Cant speak for Assassins who swing faster ...or Templars who can pull you in with a grip move...(Scorpion Mortal combat move)....

Other than that....thats about it in a nutshell...we are not high enough to see end game and siege weapons play out yet...

We have seen the balaur *pvepvp 3rd realm* fly in there big airship mechwarior thingy and blast a keep.... Some of our people went to visit it to see what it looked like and died (copperinicus aka Trul)....

I havn't seen it myself...I try to avoid it when I see it on map radar. No thanks...i dont want to die by death ray.

On the flip side, for a few of us, fort raids are unplayable lag fests where you crash every few mins, then die to camp spawn points.

So if you can run the big fort takes it's fun, if you cannot you have to make do with pve content and smaller pvp encounters. You can wander around the abyss solo or in groups attacking people if you want.

Otherwise, core combat wise, it's a fun game and well worth a try.

I have no balance issues with the game side or class wise.

Interesting thought EQ2 had a better pve game. At first I rejected the idea but it makes sense as I think about it. It was a good group based game. Plus it had rat people.

Maybe to EQ2 when it first came out. I resubscribed to EQ2, back in March for a few months. When I was playing it in earlier this year, it was definitely an easier game to level in. It's an older game, and I'd imagine that the designers have changed things to make it easier and more appealing to newer players.

I find AION harder than EQ2, when I played it earlier this year. Not as hard as EQ1. But it does remind me more of EQ1 than WoW/DAOC/WAR. I'm only level 16, with little play time.

    I have yet to PVP.

The graphics are really nice. A bit asian style to it.

    I am enjoying it.

EQ2 is not what it was when I played. It has changed a lot. The Fay expansion made it even simpler. In the first year you had to group to get anywhere ...Solo xp was not ideal.

If you ever went to Freeport....we used to have lots of elite mobs all over that place...I mean ALL over in the common lands.... Nektulos is different now to. It used to be full of elites and way more detail in the forest ..they took a lot out cause many folks could not go through there without graphic lag....todays machines can handle it back then I had to use SLI 7800 i believe was the series...i think...i forget..it was when SLI was just introduced....I was barely able to gryphon around in Nektulos even then....

You would actually not recognize the Eq2 you know from last year from before Expansions. It was awful with the elites.....just awful. Group or fail =\

I liked all the elites cause I had a group haha.

Anyway the dungeons were awesome, been awhile since some actual good dungeons were in an online game. Plus the later zones were cool and epic, lizard aztec temple, frost giant snow fort, creepy haunted house castle, undead fallen city fun.

I even liked the little combat mini game where you used abilities in a row for a powerup.

Never really did understand the freeport sewers layout though.

Sewers sucked....even though I played a whole lot...I still got lost....eventually I figured them out some after getting lost a whole lot.

I really liked Nektulos castle quest chains. Hard to figure out the doll quest. But we eventually did it. Was pretty cool dark castle...gave me shivers going inside.

I tried that vampire line...omg days of grinding out the quest in there...eventually we gave in to annoyance of it all and quit near the end portion.

I really liked that games PVE...it is great...a guild like this would have so much PVE fun....but we need PVP =)...that games later introduced PVP sucked...sucked bad.

Still not dogging on Aion we have yet to see what these raid instances for PVE hold..im sure its going to be very fun...and crazy bosses...whooo....

Im pretty happy today to..I hit37 last night and got new skills....so im very happy about that...and a very important passive skill to.....I really hate the level before the next books....its like you are barely able to keep up on fighting mobs your level or above...then bamm!...new books...and you are uber again =)
