World Boss: Colossus potential Strategy
After summoning the boss this week and getting a /t4 turn out of a warband or so.. here's the thoughts on the fight. Anyone looking to join us in the future read up and be prepared!
There are basically two phases for this fight, The Hands phase, and the Neck phase.
Phase 1: The Hands
During this phase we will be fighting the left and right hands of the Colossus as he attempts to swat us like flies. The goal of this phase is to kill the hands (both share the same HP pool) and gain access to the Neck phase.
Abilities during this Phase:
The Pull: He'll Rift us all in, directly in front of him. He starts the encounter off with this, and will use it many times during the fight. You must immediately turn and run away from him, else you will be in range of the "Swat".
The Swat: He'll periodically pull his hand back, and slam it into the ground. Most things caught in it can and will die. You need to be roughly 20-30ft away to be in the clear. Once the hand is down, you run in and resume your DPS.
The Throw: The opposite of the Pull, he'll do a little twisting of his hands, and then blow us all away and then fire dust clouds away from him. Avoid the tornadoes and run back into the safe zone. Also note, the swirly thing he does with his hands will kill you if you're caught in it.
The Swirlie Tornadoes: The results of the "Throw" are dust clouds that begin swirling and moving back and forth, they'll be in your way when re-engaging the Colossus after the throw. They'll remain there for the fight, and they do lots of damage.
**There will be a Safe Zone between where the hands can reach, and the edge of the dust clouds.. This is where most of you will want to be, far enough to avoid the hands, and just inside the edge of the dust clouds.
***The Range Debuff: Everyone will be debuffed with a range reducer, to DPS, heal, basically do anything you will need to be almost directly on top of your target. This means everyone needs to be clumped, again, basically in the Safe Zone. Ranged DPS will need to be right up alongside the melee dps to DPS the hands.
Plan of Attack:
1. Avoid the hands.
2. Avoid the dust clouds.
3. DPS the hands.
Phase 2: The Neck
Once the hands have been "killed" the Colossus will slump forward and fall to the ground. As fast as possible everyone needs to run up the statue's RIGHT arm (it will be on our LEFT). and climb onto his back. Target the neck and begin DPS. We have a certain amount of time to DPS the neck down, possibly 20-30 seconds worth.
Once the timer is up for this phase, he will reattach his arms and you return to the first phase, the Hands phase again. This cycle continues until the timer expires (15 minutes) or you kill the neck.

The overall goal of the fight is to, hopefully, reduce the neck to 0% hp after 4-5 rotations.
The encounter only lasts 15 minutes, so you have to bring a massive amount of DPS. All tanks must be wielding two handers, everyone else should be maximum single target DPS. There's no exceptions.
It is a boss fight, there are no resurrections allowed. You must respawn and run back, remember to use the mirror quest in the WC to port and run from there.
