I had removed the HTTP SLASH PART........ I clicked properties of the link from my email and it said http SESURE.ncsoft..... As you can see they masked the link...... and it looked like it came from nc soft in the name on FROM.....

I contacted NC SOFT GM..... and they said this scam is the most recent...and have been bombarded by reports of it....I check all email from work pc cause of our very high security here....so i don't get crud on the pc at home.... (GO TO MY PC FTW)...... now....let me state again.

IF you are not sure or find it odd... bank emails etc....Right click link and check properties...this way you can see what the real link address is.....this is how I caught it.... also I DONT BUY KINAH....so this gave it away....

The hackers tried to play me by making me think OH NOES I GOT CAUGHT....dumbasses...I don't buy kinah.....

Anyway.... Watch out.... I recommend...you also visit official sites by first googling to make sure you get the actual site .....don't go through your email.....or use the Launcher link only if you are as paranoid as I am.

He works in the "Game Surveillance Unit" which is responsible for dealing with RMT-related issues (botters, gold sellers, etc). The quote is from an entry he posted on the Aion website.

The fact that the original message is in an unknown language (it certainly isn't English!) is a clue.

Well I dont know what you mean by English-non...the entire email was in english...I didn't visit the link.

In the meantime, do not click on or visit any links provided in these emails. Please also make sure that you never give anyone else your account name and password. Additionally, never use your account name and password on any website except for our official sites at http://www.aiononline.com and http://www.ncsoft.com . There are many scam websites out there that attempt to copy the look and feel of our websites. Please be very suspicious of any website asking you to enter your account information, especially if it promises things like extra Kinah or other in-game bonuses.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know.

This was written by someone who can barely write English. It is obviously not from any reputable company. This was an example of what Jennings referred to as a "laughable" scam attempt. Unfortunately, some people have a low threshold of belief, and some scammers are actually competent. So we can't count on "too dumb to be true" to always protect us.

The thing that actually worries me most is if some of the fan sites don't check their advertisers, and let in ads that link to malware, and someone purely by accident clicks the link. I know that I occasionally (not often, but it happens) accidentally click on something, either because I was moving the mouse too fast and mis-click near my target, or was hovering over something while looking elsewhere and accidentally hit the button.
