will take a look at it Cali, I can not stay connected to Aion, maybe it has to do with my switch to Verizon.
Yes I'm planning to get that. I really enjoyed the first one. Although, I rarely played the multi-player part of the game. Though, I did like playing with and against friends. I heard it will come out in 3 releases. First is the Humans campaign. Then later the zerg or protess. Then after that which ever one is left. While I expect the first installment to cost $50 (or whatever the usual price is), I don't know what the other two will cost.
Another nice thing about Battle Net, is if you have the serial number of the game you can register it to your BN account and download that particular game from BN. I think that works with SC, WC series, and Diablo series. At least this was true about a year or so ago. And I think all those games work on Macs as well. While I know most of us use PCs for gaming, there may be some of us that use Macs at work. So that could be a fun, break/lunch thing to do to pass the time.![]()
I might be looking into that. If its good, I'd be up for some matches. I hope that it doesn't take too long to play against another person though, like 1-2 hours. Anybody know?
It all depends on the people (number, play style, skill) and the map, but I'd say most regular matches would easily fit below that range. It's definitely not designed to be like Supreme Commander or Sins of a Solar Empire with many-hour matches.
The reasons I'm hesitant to buy it:
1. Blizzard claims it won't have any "restrictive DRM" because it just requires an activation at install time that links your key to your Battle.net account, but the only thing you can do in the game without being connected to Bnet is the single player. Even LAN play - where Starcraft's popularity has always sprung from - requires a connection. This isn't a practical problem in the majority of use cases, so it's mostly just the principle.
2. They claim that they split the game into three boxes to allow them to spend more time on each of the single player campaigns. However, the two expansions will also add multiplayer units, abilities and/or structures, forcing players who are not interested in the story to buy them just to keep up and I suspect they will charge the full $60 for each box. If they charge a reasonable price and there is a reasonable amount of time between releases (not too short), this point goes away, though.
Edit: Note that I like single player campaigns but many people don't and Starcraft has always been about the multiplayer.

I used to be really good with RTS games, I dominated in Warcraft II but when WC3 came out I sucked. I am a keybinder, never clicking icons but could still not compete with those playing WC3. I like to build up a big defense, turtle up and have a big army. I alway die to someone building 1 unit that is stronger than everything I have and mowing me down in the first 10 minutes. Rushers are all the rage I guess and I do not enjoy playing that way. I used to play Cossacks and that game was a huge build up and rage a huge war game.
