I only know what I am reading in these threads. But based on the information that you guys have provided here, SW sounds to me like a loser and GW2 sounds like it has good possibilities.

I'd say old republic should be a good pve game to play through, pvp lite though.

Guild wars 2, indeed, has some decent possibilties for long term, guild based rvr. Server based three on three rotating rvr is a great idea, hopefully reducing the effect of one side repeatedly crushing the other side. Be fun to try to get everyone on the same server again and rvr against other servers with better designed castle takes and so forth.

In my opinon, it's disappointing that the old republic is seemingly too concerned about losing pve players and has thus under stressed pvp content. After daoc and even warhammer, the idea of a pve raid or quit end game seems a bit dull.

Still going to play old republic at release though, least for abit, heh.

We still don't know anything about TOR's world PvP areas/zones, but I doubt they'll end up as good as GW2's sound.

Still, I wouldn't say TOR sounds like a loser unless you're only basing it on the RvR possibilities.

Not knowing more about old republic open pvp areas beyond that will be "designated PvP area that is going to be completely isolated from quests and story lines" is not a good sign this late in development. Until they release either more information, or something for the testers, I'm holding out for guild wars 2 to have decent open world pvp/rvr, and old republic to have rift style pvp i.e. pvp servers for ganking and three pvp scenarios that are decent, with one scenario that's awful.

Know RvR/Large Scale Pvp Elements In Brief:

Keep takes, and three way rvr shards = Guild Wars 2
Isolated PvP designated areas (planets) with undisclosed goals = Old Republic

Hello Everyone! Just wanted to keep in touch with all the old timers from DAOC days. Our guild Nordvegr will be playing GW2 whenever it comes out and once again we'd like to coordinate with people to get on the same server. Rift is a well designed PvE game but the PvP mechanics just don't promote the community feeling and cooperation we had in DAOC, and many of us will leave Rift for GW2. GW2 will use a 3 server open world PvP system that will require a good community and cooperation... just like DAOC did. From the current information we have...

- 3 servers will battle for control of open world PvP zones for 2 weeks.
- Whoever has the most "realm" points after 2 weeks receives a realm wide bonus for their server.
- Servers will have a ranking system and every 2 weeks you will matched against servers of equal skill/ranking.

Obviously with the lack of information it's hard to gauge exactly how GW2 will be... but I'm looking forward to this from everything I've seen and hope we can get all the old timer DOAC players together.

Let you know if we not sure about TOR and have not sure to set a guild up, Fotn is starting a guild for it. Fotn is recruiting new members atm.
